State Fair in New Mexico

It’s the most exciting 10 days of the year. Each year people come from around our great state to visit the New Mexico State Fair. Most of all, it’s our time to share yummy Churro Cupcakes with you.

What is your favorite part of going to the fair? Is it the midway with all of the colorful lights and sounds of the rides? Is it the amazing artwork that you can visit representing the diversity of culture in our state? Maybe the food? Corn, burritos, fried everything? Perhaps you go to see the animals. The 4-H Barn is humming with life and voting for your favorite animal is always fun. Have you seen our Barnyard iced cookies? Ducks, horses, pigs and cows, oh my!

We here at ABC Cake Shop have our own tradition as well, it’s the love of sharing New Mexico flavors and traditions. As a result each September we bring back our Churro Cupcake. The State Fair Churro Cupcake is yellow cake with a slight hint of cinnamon Bavarian cream filling, topped with caramel buttercream, caramel drizzle and dusted with cinnamon sugar. It’s a little bit of New Mexico heaven in your mouth.
